Doggy Treats Recipes
The following treats and biscuits are simple to make and let your dog enjoy some nutritious and tasty snacks
outside of their main meals.
It must be remembered that these treats, whilst being nutritious and healthy, should not be
given to your dog on too regular a basis, even though they are much healthier than commercial or store bought
treats.

Apple
Pupcakes
Ingredients
2½ cups water
½ cup apple sauce
4 cups plain flour
1 cup finely chopped apple
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 egg, beaten
4 tablespoons honey
Preheat your oven
to 350F (180C). Spray a muffin tin with cooking spray. If you can find one, use a muffin tray that makes multiple
smaller muffins rather than large muffins.
Mix flour and baking powder together in a bowl.
Add the apple. In a separate bowl, mix water, applesauce, egg and honey. Combine the wet ingredients into the dry
ingredients slowly, ensuring all the dry mixture is well combined.
Spoon mixture into muffin tray and bake for around 1 hour. Test whether
pupcakes are ready by sticking a toothpick into the centre of one of the cakes. If it comesout dry, they're
ready.
Store the apple pupcakes in an air-tight container for up to a
week.

Peanut Butter Doggy
Biscuits
Ingredients
2 cups flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 cup peanut butter (smooth)
1 cup milk
Before you begin,
you should preheat your oven to 375F (180C). Lightly grease a baking tray.
In a mixing bowl,
combine the flour and baking powder. Use a separate bowl to mix the peanut butter and milk to form a smooth paste
and then add this to the flour mix. Mix these together well until they form a thick
dough.
Lightly flour a clean bench or
surface and knead the dough lightly. Roll the dough out until it's
approximately ¼inch (½ centimeter) thick. Cut the dough into bite-sized squares, or use a cookie
cutter to create shapes if you wish.
Place
the cookies onto the baking tray and bake them for around 20 minutes, until they turn a light golden-brown. Watch
them carefully as they have a tendency to burn easily.
Remove cooked cookies from the oven and allow them to cool completely before offering them to
your dog. Store any unused cookies in an air-tight container until
needed.

1 cup water
2 eggs
Before you begin, you should

cookie cutter in flour and then cut the shapes you want from the dough. Put the cut cookie pieces onto the cookie
sheets.
Remove the unused dough portions
and roll them out again. Press more shapes from the remaining dough and place these on cookie sheets. Continue
until you've used all the dough.

Note. When you see how much your dog loves these treats you may be tempted to
give them to him/her a little too often. Remember that all their food requirements are provided within the main
meal recipes. These are treats after all, and should therefore be treated as such.
